Cool New (For me at least) Blog

This blog that I found is really neat, the Tip Junkie. It has recipes, craft ideas, and soo much more. It looks like I found it just in time too. They are having some neat drawings starting Monday for the next twenty days to celebrate their one year anniversary with the blog, so go and check it out!

Bass Lake

We spent the afternoon at Bass Lake with some friends of ours. The kids had a blast, it was such a nice day! The girls loved the sand and Kyler loved the water.

Summer Misc.

It seems like even through our crazy Summer we have tried to make things a little more relaxed around here.

We take our time to eat breakfast when we can:

We play together a little more(and stay in our PJ's a little more):

The girls love to put him in a blanket a swing him just a little. They love to hear him giggle!
The girls made up a little dance and cheer and performed them for Josh and I. They're silly!!

Swim Lessons

The girls started swim lessons this week. We are taking them at a private pool and the lessons are great! They even turned out being cheaper than the city pool and the classes are much smaller! They are having tons of fun. They both love the water!

Changing Water

Since we cannot build on the property that we bought until our current house sales we planted the entire piece of property into pasture grass. We, ok mostly Josh and Chad, have to move the water pretty much every day. I have gone with him a few times and it's a nice quiet break from my crazy life. Yesterday, Kels was with Ashley in Burley so the rest of us went with Josh to move the water. We packed Kyler up in the backpack and headed out.

Kyler wasn't sure what to think of the backpack. We haven't used it for awhile.

The girls love their little Irrigation Boots!
We actually have something growing! His farming days before his mission have paid off!

It looks really cool also. Here is the link if you are interested: JessicaSprague.com.

Barbies

My 17 yr old sister is staying with is for the summer to help with babysitting while I am with Kyler in Salt Lake, doing dance team fundraisers, and the youth celebration for the temple open house. She brought a huge tote full of barbie furniture and accessories that my mom had collected over time. They are loving it!! They really love their Aunt Ashley and are so glad that she is here to stay with us for awhile.

Play Time

Kyler and I had some well deserved play time tonight. It is so fun to watch his faces as he reacts to the different sounds that his toys make. He is also starting to make silly faces for the camera. I finally got his to make a few of his silly faces for the camera.

Pool Time!!

If was finally a little warmer here so we decided to get out the pool. IT keeps the kids occupied for most of the day. Our house has big windows in the back so I can see them all day when I have to be in feeding the baby or folding laundry, so that is nice.

They had a ton of fun today! I am so glad that it is finally warm enough to go outside, I was beginning to think that summer would never arrive!! Hopefully, the water will warm up enough tomorrow so that Kyler can join his sisters......

Kelsie & Kamrin's Spring Recital

Kelsie and Kamrin had their spring recital on Saturday. I love watching them. Their personalities definately come out and they are so funny to watch. My camera would only hold a part of Kelsie's dance so their is only a short clip of her.

Kamrin is right in the middle, she's about the tallest.

Kelsie is the third from the left, she's actually one of the shorter one's most of her class is finishing 1st and 2nd grade.

Kylers Silly Faces

Kyler has a silly cheesy smile now, it is hilarious! He squints his eyes really small, crinkles his nose, and shows his two little teeth. I have had a hard time capturing it on camera. I finally got him to make some silly faces for the camera and as soon as he will do the cheesy smile on camera I will post it. Can you tell he's teething? This kid can drool!!

Hard Things

I don't share my feelings well. I don't really like to talk about things that are bothering me. I guess since this is the closest thing that I have to a journal I should put something here to help me feel a little better. So here goes.... About six weeks ago at one of our routine weight checks for Kyler the pediatrician noticed his eyes were kind of weird. They would only align properly if his head was tilted to the left and his eye tended to wander to the outside, exitropia it's called. We had noticed his head was tilted earlier and thought that his muscles weren't strong enough to hold up his head. So we started physical therapy. Come to find out he tilts his head so that he can see. Well, the pediatrician recommended that we see a pediatric ophthalmologist in Boise and made the next available appointment for the last week in June. At this point I had an unsettling feeling. Two months seemed like such a long time to me, even though it wasn't an emergency really. Well, I read on a friend from high school's blog that her daughter saw eye doctor's in Salt Lake at Primary Children's. It hadn't even occurred to me to go there! Kels spent some time there when she was little and we loved it, they are so good with children. I found the number on the Internet and was able to book an appointment and it ended up being sixteen days earlier than the Boise appt. I have a sister-in-law in Layton so we had a place to stay so everything worked out great. Well, Monday we saw an internal medicine specialist and he thinks that Kyler has a very fast metabolism and we just need to feed him a lot. We will just keep up on his growth and make sure that he's growing as time goes on. Tuesday we headed to the ophthalmologist. The doctor saw some things that unless you've seen what he probably has, you might easily miss is because it is so rare and this doctor may be one of the few that has it and mostly because of the
resources available through Primary Children's and the university. By the time we would have noticed this is Boise we can be treating it in Salt Lake. This is one of those times I think that I really noticed the inspiration and intuition that you have as a mother. I'm sure that I use it every day on lots of little things, but this time definitely taught me that I need to listen more carefully in all things. Hopefully everything will go well with the continuing diagnosis and treatment for Kyler, we are headed back in a week for some Ct Scans and then from there we will know what our next steps are. I am so thankful for all of the moms who choose to share the little things in their lives through their blogs, it's crazy how something like this really can help others. We can all be an inspiration to someone else and help each other along the way, just with our everyday lives!

Gateway Discovery Center

We spent Monday and Tuesday in Utah for kids doctor's appointments. In between appointments we went to the Discovery Center at the Gateway Mall. If you haven't taken kids there, it is a must! I had a lot of fun watching the kids experiment with different things. Their favorite part was the big playhouse, grocery store, water table, and farm. They would have loved to spend the whole day there! I forgot the memory card for my camera, so these pictures are off of my phone and they aren't that great. Better than none I guess!!

They have a separate area for smaller children. Kyler loved being pushed! (He's dressed up as a duck.)

Afterwards playing in the fountains at the mall. It was actually a really nice day for once.
